The notion of real-life allows us to be reassured psychologically about our existence. When this reality is disrupted, the result could be strongly destabilizing.
Everyone’s existence dictates norms, standards and symbols to their subconscious. This principle allows people to shape a collective metaphysical reality.
However, the artificial imitation of nature can’t objectively be imitated by humans.
When a machine wants to recreate reality at its best, flaws will remain, creating a malaise. In that case the theory of the uncanny valley will be applied.
In contrast, when the power of the algorithm is strong enough to create the illusion of a tangible reality, the boundary between the material and fiction will get blurred.
Putting them side by side disturbs and destabilizes our perception of reality.
